Honkey? I was told that the term was sort of synonymous with "honger"!

I live in GA (60% AA, and a large percent Hispanic population) and we get called "honkey" all the time... usually friendly. It is kinda funny. I have a friend who got offended when a coworker, who was just kidding, called him "honkey redneck" as part of a friendly jest. It was the redneck part that set him off.
