Dogs, clearly.

Dogs are intelligent, loyal, and protective. Cats are fluffy. That's it.

Whatever, that thing you have barely qualifies as a dog anyway ;)

Should I call 911? My dog just got burned :(
no, they'll just think you burned it yourself and try to jail you.

instead, you should hit it with a hammer and bury it up to it's neck in your back yard

i like all animals, but i prefer cats because i'm lazy and they're pretty much self-maintaining ;)

I only like dogs if they don't bark. Ever... I like cats because they're silent, but some of them just don't play enough.

Both?

I've never had either (except a English Springer Spaniel when I was ~8 that we got rid of after he ate a chunk off my brother's face...) but I find cats pleasant because they're unobtrusive and friendly (the friendly ones, that is). Dogs are fun too, though a bit slobbery.

that's strange... i could have sworn the original KGW broadcast had said the owners didn't want to take the dog in to be euthanized because they thought they were going to be accused of neglect. it's not in this report, though.

bunnies! bunnies are good too! except that they like to chew on stuff if you're not really keeping an eye on them. they aren't very good free range pets ;)

Their story isn't even believable:

"The two told KGW they were so distraught after the experience they left the dog in the ground and went out to dinner."

Dogs do clean themselves.

Where is your supporting documentation for this and the reasoning. I hope you have a paper trail!

Cats have their own life and if you are lucky they will let you be a part of it.
They will even let you live under the same roof with them if you are nice.
otherwise, they give you THE STARE ! That look that burns through your soul .
Cat owners know what I am talking about .
