You're saying the cat put himself in there? Or are you saying it's dumb for not running away faster?

Yes cats are dumb. Dogs are pretty much just as dumb, but in different ways. What do you expect from animals with brains the size of theirs?

I bet he could get out if he wants to. He just doesn't want to.

And when you tell them that the plastic will smother them, they don't listen?

My cat does that all the time. He loves to be in boxes, especially empty water bottle boxes.

Edit: The other night my other cat saw him in there, so she jumped on top of him. :D He was freaking out because he couldn't get at her through the plastic.

Cats are curious like that. They will crawl into something and not always think about the outcome.

My cats sleep under furniture, where there is about 3 inches of clearance between the floor and the furniture.

My friend had a cat that was pretty fat and it used to love to sit in empty shoe boxes. Problem was he was too fat for the shoe boxes but still climbed in there anyway. A shoe box would last him about a day or two before the sides would let go with a rrrriiiipppp and he'd just explode out of it. Pretty hillarious when it used too happen. Then he'd sit there morosely eyeing his much beloved but now destroyed box while we laughed at him.

My cat also LOVES to cram herself into boxes too small for her - more so now that she's become a fatass :D

It's pretty funny to see them do this kind of stuff.. this cat in particular I've only met a few times but he's really friendly, but a huge goofball. They're really nice when they have good personalities.

why is that dumb maybe he likes it in there it is cozy and hard to get into because of the small hole, bet you would think it was a cool little cave/fort if the plastic wasn't clear
