I like em both but cats are easier to care for. In the dead of winter living in the North East you don't have to take your cat out in a blizzard so it can do it's business.

Mid size to large dogs also need a fairly good sized yard so it can get the exercise it needs. Cats only need a hallway.

Dogs>>>>Cats. I think cats are stubborn. They never respond when you call their name. Dogs on the other hand are very loyal to their owner and family and will protect them. Dogs unlike cats respond to their name and other commands, and imo much smarter than cats.

cats suck!!! how often do you see a cat that knows how to do simple commands like sit and shake? can you take cats hiking with you?

cats are great for old people that cant handle a real animal like a dog

Actually either is trainable once you understand the differences in motivation between pack animals (dogs) and solitary hunters (cats).

- I've never seen or heard of a cat that could do simple commands a dog does. They might be trainable, but nobody is ever able to train them like they do with a dog.

Owners who have cats and dogs, never have a cat that knows as many commands (or even any at all) as the dog. The cat might come when you call, but that's just because it knows you are the cat's ***** and will pet the cat for doing absolutely nothing but being alive. Dogs will just chill by your side, without having to be acknowledged, or rewarded for being alive.

I've had 4 dogs in the past and now have 6 cats which mainly stay on the 15x20 screened in porch.

1--- Cat's don't stink, most dogs do.
2--- You have to walk a dog, no need to walk a cat.
3--- Cats crap/piss in a litter box. Dogs crap/piss everywhere. Those of you that have a backyard and have a dog know what I'm taking about. You have a barbecue and invite guests over........ they step "IN" the crap and trail it "inside" your home when "they" need to take a piss!

You have to change a litter box......... Whheeeeeeeee. Oh, that's very difficult.
Cats shed a bit but it's better than the dog shi* all over the carpet **LOL**

Those are the 3 main reasons I'll never own a dog again.
How many times does it take for a dog to crap on a carpet and the owner gives a shite?????? The world may never know.

Are you kidding me? .....Commands? Begging= #1, if anyone who has a dog cannot see it.....= Numbnut.
When a damn dog can Steam clean and Vacuum my carpet after he craps and pisses on it, I may consider a dog again.

I like both, but dogs are probably a little better than cats in my book. I could do without the hyper dogs though.

"2--- You have to walk a dog, no need to walk a cat. "
- Dogs don't have to be walked. Btw, have you ever tried to take a cat hiking with you? LOL

"You have to change a litter box......... Whheeeeeeeee. Oh, that's very difficult. "
- Nothing stopping you from training your dog to use a litter box...

"When a damn dog can Steam clean and Vacuum my carpet after he craps and pisses on it, I may consider a dog again. "
- Even retarded owners know how to train a dog to go outside to pee lol...

I never had to potty train my current 2 dogs, they just know to poop on grass only, and if there isn't grass, they wont poop on concrete, instead, they go in the rocks/dirt.

I agree with the dog shedding, you have some extra work with inside dogs to cleanup the hair and brush them every once in awhile, but at lest you don't have that dandruff from cats that causes people to sneeze!

if you pet it the wrong way, it would flip out and bite with no warning.

No, the cat gave you warning, it's just not obvious enough for you to detect like dogs' warnings (growling, lifting lips, raising hair). Most time you have to actually be paying attention to a cat to catch the warning signs.

no, there really wasnt any kind of warning (i.e. fangs, hissing, paw smack, sudden movement, etc.). i do like cats though, which is why i was petting it. they have another cat now which lets you hold it upside down in the palms of your hands (its full grown too). its kinda funny. its a much nicer one than their other cat.

Cats are just as, and usually more, evil than dogs... they just don't have the bulk to do much damage.

BTW... the shame is on them for buying a little foo-foo dog. Very few small dogs are worth the crap they poop. They're too dumb. Larger dogs with real intelligence are great pets. If you want a cat that ignores you, why not just get a furry heating pad or a girlfiend - she'll attck you with claws too, but at least it'll be in bed.

According to your calculation, Cats do indeed suck and I agree.

Cats piss on the furniture, just before they slash it up and run up the curtains.

CATS SUCK.
