My Jack Russell is my best friend and wants nothing from me other than love. We are inseparable.

We both hate cats!

COVID-19 cats come out tonight
COVID-19 cats come one come all
The COVID-19 moon is shining bright
COVID-19’s come to the COVID-19 ball

The underlying idea here being to keep your fucking cat in your fucking yard. Pet owners who let their pets (dogs included) wander the neighborhood should be punished. People who live in the boonies or on farms are exempt of course.
It's a lot easier to keep a dog in your yard than an outdoor cat. They jump much better than dogs, climb too. Dogs are not climbers. We have laws against people having their dogs going leash-less, much less wandering the neighborhoods, but AFAIK no laws concerning their cats wandering.

It's not great that there's going to be a native reservoir of infection, it's going to make it a lot harder to get rid of this.

Well in the real world some folks compare cats and dogs over which ones taste better and make a better croquet or meat bun so a matter of perspective and such.

Jus' say'in.

Dream on. Covid19 is part of the epidemiological landscape for the foreseeable future even if a vaccine is developed.

You don't want to think too hard about why.
I don't understand people not liking cats, feline domesticus or whatever it's called. They'll scratch the hell out of you, it can happen, but usually they are gentle, very graceful creatures and if they've imprinted on you can be very friendly, in their odd catty way.

A GF I had always had a cat or two and she suspected I harbored a cruel streak when it came to cats, but it was entirely her bent imagination. I've never mistreated a cat for a second. Certainly never hated one either. Now, dogs are another matter. It's very very easy to hate dogs:

They stink
They hump your leg
They will shit almost anywhere and don't have the decency cats do to bury their shit
They can bark until you go insane
If they aren't yours they can and will often treat you like you are The Devil
Yes, they will bite you. I had a job many years ago working for the Office of Workman's Compensation Programs in the federal government. A pretty fair percentage of the applications I saw were by mail delivery federal employees (i.e. postal workers) who were bitten by dogs.

Very very easy to hate dogs.

1.) They stink
2.) They hump your leg
3.) They will shit almost anywhere and don't have the decency cats do to bury their shit
4.) They can bark until you go insane
5.) If they aren't yours they can and will often treat you like you are The Devil
6.) Yes, they will bite you.

1.) Ever hear of a bath? People stink too without a bath.
2.) Maybe it's you. I have never had a dog hump my leg.
3.) Training. You can train a dog to shit where you want outside. Litter boxes stink up your house. I've never seen a house with a cat that didn't smell like cat shit/piss. Plus cats tend to mark their turf by pissing on everything. They also shred the furniture and drapes.
4.) Well cats can't bark, so there is that.
5.) Cats only tolerate people, marginally at best.
6.) Cats will also bite you and scratch you to ribbons.

Fuck Cats.

A dog will kill you. Domestic cats will not.

You can't train a cat, but think how much time that saves you.

Cats clean themselves, dogs can't be bothered.

Go back to fucking dogs.

I have never fucked a dog, thanks.

Enjoy your cat shit litter box.

😛

With dogs and cats I have experienced the transcendent joy of being. A dog is not a cat and a cat is not a dog but I am always me. Every animal that responds to the love I feel for it does so out of respect for the God within me. Every animal sees what we cannot. To hate an animal is to shit on what we were meant to be. Try not to do that.

there was a man so frightened of life he walled himself in a cave where he died from a lack of air. A story

Our story, sad to say.

The wall, of course, is the ego that is there to deflect all memory of pain that was done to the helpless animal within.

If cats had opposable thumbs, they would kill us all.

Do not be fooled.
Aside from maybe a shark (a water borne animal) IMO the most ferocious animal is a Siberian tiger.

If you feel the need for someone to look up to you, get a dog.
Cats ... murder machines, I must have finished off hundreds of small critters over the years cause the cat decided to bring half dead small prey home. Sometimes bigger prey (rabbits?)
Never a cat again. Dogs are too needy. Maybe a pig?

I suppose I've seen some kind of pigs in zoos but am sorely lacking in personal experience with them, I have none. Equals! Fantastic idea. Maybe one day I'll live on a farm and find out.
