Cats and Lasers...

Laser Pen + Cat = Boundless Fun

🙂

Just a thought...if you have a kitty, buy a laser pen, and treat yourself to a good time. 🙂

Now back to the torture of the elusive red light...

Its cruel, but not as cruel as some. I once knew a guy who had fun throwing his cat against the wall and watching it slide down. The thing was a feral beast. It would literally hunt you down and attack you if you didn't feed it at an exact time. Yeah, I stopped being roomates with that guy pretty quick.

Hosting betta fights counts as being uncruel right?

Cat torture FTW! (ok not really.)
it's not the nicest thing i've ever heard of, but compared to some, it's ok. I knew a guy that would kick his cat all the time. Just don't shine the laser in the cat's eye as it can do damage.

I'm not shining it in her eyes...You just shine it on the carpet, move it around, and the darned thing chases it all over the room. 🙂

I guess it's okay as long as it doesn't accidently get shined in the cat's eyes.

Does the cat begin to chase it's head???

Even then, if it's only for a fraction of a second, it won't do anything.

How in the hell is it mean at all?

I prefer low-tech:

cotton-ball or miniature stuffed bear tied to a string.

Our cat used to love chasing his little bear about, he would do mad leaps over the couch to get to it when the bear was tossed in the air.

that used to keep me amused for hours watching him chase his little teddy.

my cat loves lasers 🙂

it's not mean to them at all, they get to have some fun and exercise. you're playing with them and they know it. if there's one thing a cat wants (after food and sleep) it's attention

My cats play for a few minutes and then stop with the lazer pointers.

What really gets them is a small kid size fishing poll with a small 1/8oz Rat-L-Trap (tiny trap) attached. Of course, remove the treble hooks first. They will play until they pant........ Yes, pant like a dog! So funny. Just toss it back and forth, make them leap at it etc.

I use this exact color below.......... Color should'nt matter though but anything that they can see will work.

Here's a pic..... It's bottom right
HERE

My uncle's cat loves laser pointers. When I first brought one over, she turned into the anti gravity cat. Had her run up and jump up the side of a wall a good five feet. She wore herself out so much she was laying on the floor panting and still trying to catch it. Since she's a 6 month old kitten, it's amazing she got worn down so much, little balls of energy.

Those lasers are like crack for my sisters dog. If he sees it for 1 sec. he will spend about a week staring, and pawing at the ground trying to find his next fix.

Been there done that 11 years ago.

My mom likes to drive the cats up the walls (literally) with her laser pointer. The cats love it more then any other toy, except maybe those rings from the top of milk jugs.
