Not all cats respond to catnip but the ones thaty do, really get off on the stuff. LOL,my two know where their stash is kept and will often camp out near the treat cupboard till I break down and give them some

I've read everywhere that catnip is harmless. Cats in nature eat catnip about once per week - and they don't go crazy. In the home, cats have no access to this mint and they go crazy if you suddenly let them smell/eat it. However if you keep catnip around easilly available to the cats, they basically ignore it as they weren't deprived. Do you have any proof that it harms them?

I don't think it harms them in the slightest. I think cats are quite intelliegent creatures and that boredom harms them more than anything else as humans take their independent nature for granted and see it as a sign that they don't require any extra stimulation. A little catnip and an hour spent playing with them and their toys is most rewarding.. for cats and humans alike

i have 2 plants next to the house...

it grows to a massive size with large leafs in the summer and then shrinks during the winter.

my cats love them... especially when the plant "buds".
