Catholic school bans blogging

so what. it's a private school, and the suggestion is not that preposterous.
the thought behind it is not censorship but protecting children from sexual predators, cyber-bullying and harassment."

First of all, people who post stuff on the the internet about their jobs, schools, etc then get pissed when they get in trouble when someone in authority finds out about it are morons. However, I don't see how a school can tell kids that they can't have an online journal of any kind, that's just ridiculous.

Oh yeah almost forgot: PLEASE WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!?! *sobs uncontrollably*

Like moshquerade, it's a private school. This isn't a new thing either the private catholic schools in Fargo started expelling students who wouldn't stop blogging.

Communist/Catholicism/Republican = New America

Where have you've been??? 😕
so out of line.

Catholic schools have had rules that are stricter than public schools since their inception.
you don't need to imply they are communist.

Ah but those "rules" are clearly crossing over and usurping the Constitution beyond the walls of the Church/School.

That is where they go "out of line".

what "rules" specifically?

And people wonder why the people who come from Catholic schools seem so naive.

I think teaching responsibility about this issue rather than shutting the kids out from the real world is a better tactic.

But, then again, this is a private school, so my opinion doesnt count.

Psst, the dark ages are over.

I dont find many blogs reside in the "real" world either. So I wouldnt use that as a valid reason.

Just wondering, cause you might have more direct experience as to why these schools are in general more sheltering (and IMO, skirting around responsibility) than public schools or non-denominational private schools. Is it just part of Catholicism?

You know exactly what I mean Genx, no need to play games. Blogs are part of everyday life. I'm sure you have visited a few.

No, I am free. Chains and bonds come in more varieties then metal.

Especially the self-imposed ones.
yeh, i maintain you are dillusional, and suffering from angry man syndrome with a good dose of anti-Christianity.

here's a tidbit for your closed mind: most Catholics are happy being Catholics or they wouldn't be. i don't see any chains holding them there.
