So we just built a brand new small form factor machine in an X-Qpack case from Aspire. We ordered a couple of blue cathode lights with it.
The machine runs flawlessly, with one exception: Everytime the cathodes are switched on...the computer reboots shortly thereafter. It never does this if the lights are -off-.
My first thought was a power issue...but wouldn't that be a direct shutdown? And, it's a 420 watt supply in a Small Form Factor machine...surely that is more than enough power even with a couple of lights?
My second thought was that maybe there was an issue with the switch or the cathodes sending a current through the case. But, there are no loose wires.
What could be causing this? It's not crippling, but it's odd. Should we try switching it to a different molex plug?
Any input appreciated.
