I know it feels like a crappy thing to do to to the mommy kitty, but you're doing the right thing getting them socialized and finding them homes. if they remained strays, think of all the things that could happen to them; hit by car, disease, hunger, etc.

I caught a feral kitten several months ago that came out from under the neighbors house looking for food. It was malnourished. I brought it in, gave it food, taught it that petting was nice, and took him to the vet who was able to re-home him.His new family named him Mr. jingles, and he's spoiled rotten.

Well, we caught kitten number 3 last night. I feel like shit for taking them away from their mother. I feel even worse knowing we couldn't get the last kitten last night and he was forced to spend the night alone as his mother wouldn't go near him out of fear we would find him.
You are like that guy in I Am Legend.

When all the other cats in the neighborhood run away in fear from you now you know why.

Well, I have caught 2 of the 4. I would have had 3 but the first one got away (and was a learning experience on how to not let them escape. I hope to get the last 2 this week then catch momma and get her to a local feral cat shelter to be fixed and released.

The kittens are very friendly and love to be held and played with.

Also, we have been referred to a local pet store that will help us place the kittens in good homes.

Awwww, they're cute :D

Good job. We managed to catch 3 that were living in a storm drain along with the mother. Hard to believe they are 10 years old now. Lucky for us the mother was not feral so we have her as well,

Get 'em young. Don't forget to housebreak 'em before you turn them out.

Heh, cycling through a few more of your pics gave me a snicker. Gun, with occasional kittens.
