On topic: I had cataract surgery on my one useable eye last year, and the most noticeable difference was the color spectrums that had been off and I never realized it.

I have a UV type diode laser that use to appear blueish white to me...it actually looks violet now. I always thought it was the laser but nope...just my eye.

Had my right eye done on Tuesday. Had the post-op exam on Wednesday, in the brief eye exam they gave me...20/20 in the "new" eye. Haven't had that in over 30 years. The biggest surprise for me is the difference in color perception. From the right eye, white things look clear, crisp, and white...from the left eye, fuzzy, dingy, and kind of tan-ish. It's almost like the difference between a 2700K incandescent bulb and a 5500K LED bulb. Maybe 40 years of cigarette smoking stained the lens like it does the glass in your automobile...

Color spectrums were the biggest or most noticeable difference after my surgery (as stated in post #33 above).

I was amazed at just how 'off' it was and I didn't realize it until I had it fixed.

The doc said I'll probably need reading glasses...but HOPEFULLY, no more bifocals.

I had that option…for $3500 per eye. ((and my Medicare advantage wouldn’t pay for it)
