Catalyst not running

Hi-

Installed new Catalyst, have icons but cannot get Catalyst Control center to open-tried with desktop icon, programs icon, reinstalled after removing all ATI software-no luck. Any thoughts?

Have you tried the button in Display Properties|Advanced?

If you have an add blocker program or firewall it may stop the control center from opening.

I had the same problem. I forgot how I got it to work but, on the last driver update I went with the non-control center version. You get almost the same options.

hmmm-no, no error messages. I do have Ad-Aware and NIS running, tried turning off but no help. The advanced button in display properties doesn't work, either. Catalyst Control Center button is there, just won't open.

I have the same things running on my other system, though, and it works there.

Check the permission of the ATI part of the registry, I had a weird problem with that.

OK-I just dropped it back to the ATI control panel instead of Catalyst Control Center, works fine. I never did figure out what was going on with the Catalyst Control Center. I have another system with same OS, same NIS, Ad-Aware, Spy Sweeper and firewall settings on which it works fine.
