catalyst error!!

i just in stalled official 3.6 ati cat drivers for my radeon 9800np and now its going ccrazy. everytime it boots up, it says

svchost.exe
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on ok to terminate the application.

i clicked ok and now it just shows my wallpaper with no taskbar or desktop icons.

i am using windows 2000 sp4. please help.

i boot to safe mode and it allows me to access my desktop. i used drive cleaners to uninstall the drivers and i reinstalled the drivers and its happening again!

 

Svchost is a system process that cant start.
Try reinstalling SP4 while your in safe mode if you can. If that doesnt work,
boot up with your windows 2000 CD and do a repair on windows.
You have a 50/50 shot that this will work.

Did you install the Control Panel too?

i think i did. but i just got really piss and decided to just reinstall the system. lol. thanks for the help though.
