120 megs of crap to install? Megabloat and resource hog from ATI? Hell no I wont install it and when they drop the original control panel and go only with ccc then I will sell my 9800p and go back to nvidia.

I use the CCC; I like the drivers. 50MB of stuff isn't really a problem for me, I'm not lacking in HD space.

The control panel + driver takes up upwards of 25MB of RAM and another 20MB for video preview in CCC; close CCC and it drops down to 20-25MB combined total; excessive for sure but it's manageable.

Heck Windows XP takes well over 100MB of RAM by itself for all the crap and bloat it runs.

Bah, they should stop spending so much time developing this bloatware crap, and work on a decent Linux driver.:p Got a GeForce 2 here that is making my 9600XT look silly in Gentoo. :(

I would agree, if I could ever figure out how to work linux. I tried, but couldn't even get any drivers installed. That is one complicated os.

google "ATI Tray Tools" if you just want to have control over Catalyst AI.

once you have that, no reason to bother with ACE unless you want to n00bify your rig.
