You know what these "betas" are don't you?

they are what AMD sends to MS and then waits a couple of weeks to get back from them with the certification :p
- assuming they pass, they are the next Cats.

now they will have manual fan control, which locks you to a single rpm. but will they have something more useful, way to override automatic schedule? For example, my lowest rpm setting in automatic mode is set to 22% and there's no way to change it. If it would change to 25%, temperature will be lower for about 8C.

I don't think they will offer such a setting in the future. If you want "Automatic" fan settings than you should just leave the cards fan alone and not change it, otherwise you'll have to use "RivaTuner" or something to create custom profiles (Pain in the A$$).

Modding the BIOS w/ RBE is the better option in the long run if you don't like the default fan speeds.

I think the fan addition to CCC is more for information purposes and for ppl that want to increase the "defaults" for better cooling & louder operation. Plus, you don't have to install a 3rd party app. anymore. Seems like a nice addition to me.

Pretty neat that they are listening to consumer complaints and allowing us an option to manually control the fan IMO.

Really didn't care about the fan setting in CCC. RivaTuner works awesome though! In just a couple seconds I had a custom auto fan setting that works greats.

My auto fan speeds are from 15-39% - 45-66C - idle 120/800mhz - load 815/3900mhz

Haven't tested any other drivers other that 8.10, but they work really nice so there staying.
