It is really funny to watch you ATI lovers announce the latest set of partially functional Catalyst drivers. Man, I wish that I had never bought my 9800 Pro. This is such a sad pursuit of drivers. Why can't ATI just make it right the first time, or second time, man, even just the 3rd time.

What are you talking about?!?!? I have been very happy with ATI's drivers. In fact I would say they are about the best in the industry. What other company releases drivers monthly to fix problems and improve performance? I would say ATI has done a complete 180 in terms of its driver support from two years back.

Well-said. 🙂 I agree with you. There's nothing wrong w/them saying "hey, we tweaked XYZ so that "this game" runs better and we fixed ABC" and things like that.

Graphics companies who do not release regular driver updates are normally in denial. They also don't last very long.

The graphics industry is probaby one of the fastestes moving portions of the computer industry. There would be no way to "make it right the first time."

Perhaps we should actually blame the software developers for not strictly keeping to specifications causing graphics manufactures to have to "fix" their drivers?

Don't bother with any new ATI drivers if you like playing open GL with gamme adjustments. Maybe you like running around in the dark, I dunno.

foolish advice 🙂 see my other post.

There are ten zillions of tools which allow you to set gamma in case the in-game gamma wouldnt work. Download powerstrip or similiar and set gamma from there. Not an 'elegant' solution but it works.

Installed 4.3's flawlessly.

Testing will commence in about 10 hours when i get back from Uni.

Can I D/L and install the 24.3MB single driver package if I DO NOT have the AIW RADEON or RADEON VIVO family product? I have a ATI 9800 Pro.

Yes you can use that,it`s just a high speed download wiith a single package setup, infact that`s what I use with my 9700NP all the time.
