LOL. I d/l'd the drivers and ran PCMark2k2. It gave me a big increase in CPU and Memory scores (5 & 3% respectively), but my HD score dropped about 5%. Played around with the settings some, everything was 3-5% lower, then when I went back to my original it was 3-5% lower (back to where it was), and my HD score didn't change (still lower). I'm interested to see if PAT will run. I think it may be a conflict with the video drivers that prevents my running it now since it runs Prime95 stable but crashes when I exit (and I have to reinstall my catalyst drivers). Weird again.

BTW will those drivers work with the R9800Pro 128mb ver? I didn the find driver thing for the R9800pro and nothing came up but when i do it for the R9700pro they come up, so the cat3.5's will work with all ATI cards right?

I'm confused! Help me out

It's $27.90 here. The Catalyst 3.5 are for the entire Radeon line AFAIK. This should go for the original Radeon 32mb all the way to the latest 9800's. :)

Thanks for the info, dl'in now hope i get MW soon. Is that online retailer good?

Yes, they are excellent. I have ordered several games from them in the past, and just ordered Gothic II today....no problems. Man, I might just have to buy the two expansion packs for MW...I never thought I could play MW smooth @ 1600 x 1200 with 16X AF and 6X AA! :Q:Q

:)

Is it safe to save most of these catalyst river updates are for optimization of the dx 9.0 compatable cards???

I have a Radeon 8500DV and I haven't upgraded since the 3.2's.......I don't really game but use all the features of the ALL-in wonder....

installed and no problems so far. in fact, I didn't have any problems with ati drivers 3.2 or 3.4

3dmark2001 dropped about 300 points and 3dmark 03 went down less than a 100 points. Yet to test any games

Not really sure, but I know they've come out with a new MMC since then (MMC 8.5), as well as several new revisions of the WDM capture driver. I would suggest upgrading to at least The CAT 3.4's, the latest WDM driver and the MMC 8.5.. I have noticed significant improvements in the video capture and playback functions on my 8500DV since upgrading to MMC 8.5 and the CAT 3.4's. I am going to try out the 3.5's tonight, with the most recent WDM capture driver.

You need Cat3.4 or better to use EZLOOK if nothing else. Cat 3.5's working fine with AIW 7500 and AIW 9700.

I'm running the Cat 3.5's now, and I've been very pleased so far. My 3dmark2001SE scores have stayed about the same from the last driver (the 3.4's) on my 8500DV, but have improved on my older cards (Radeon 32MB and AIW Radeon 32MB). I haven't really noticed any drastic improvements, but it does seem to be a little better picture quality in 3d games so far. It is very stable, from what I've seen. No problems at all with this driver release so far.

Don't like these already - I was running my monitor at 120Hz refresh rate with the Catalyst 3.4's. The specs say it goes higher, but that's all the drivers would allow I guess. The 3.5's only offer 43, 90, 150, 160, and 200 as the refresh rate choices. The monitor won't accept 150, so it goes to the next lower level, which is no longer 120 - it's 90Hz. Maybe I'll try to edit the registry and change those values; don't know where they are though.

Dude, I've got my Radeon 8500 running at 85Hz refresh rate (Catalyst 3.5).
