I still lost 3dMark score... (around 100 points using DX8.1)

Noticed some shuttering is the 'ocean' pixel shading test
and some slight anomolies.

dunno yet if I'm going back to 6218

Me too. DirectX9 make me drop 100points, Catalyst3.0 (this version) drop another 100points.

Was 15850, now only 15680. :(

hmm... I don't really care about benchmark scores... but I notice that catalyst 3.0 gives richer colors in games (I don't use DX9 though)

well, maybe it's just me....

Did it solve a lot of D3D stutterring issues and the problems with a low minimum FPS in games like UT 2K3?

It did solve the OpenGL AND D3D stuttering, but I'm not sure about the minimum FPS in UT2K3.

does the 3.0 make truform run better?
counter-strike runs sloooow with truform. 99fps goes to 10fps. no truform: min=60fps max=99fps.
also, models are soo bulky. hehe

kinda funny when people complain about losing 100 marks when its worth only .6% performance and in a game might mean a loss of framerate of .5 frames per second. Seriously, losing 3D marks doesn't make a driver set bad, how about you test the performance of games instead of a synthetic benchmark to see if you encounter any complaints/problems with the drivers.

kinda funny when people cant interpret what they read.

------- EDIT ---- for Metal

1: I see no complaints (only obeservations)

2: His post adds no additional info or oberservations about the new drivers. (only his interpretation of others observations)

(not to mention addtional load time on this thread and we have to listen to him rant)

I don't use Truform in CS. Makes the guns look too rounded. :)

They did solve the OGL stuttering, but there is still some D3D stuttering that has not been corrected. Also, I don't think there is anything wrong with the minimum FPS in UT2K3, that game just brings systems to their knees regardless of manufacturer or drivers.

Lots of people at Rage3d.com forums, including myself, have noticed that while our average FPS in UT 2K3, as well as a few other games, are good, our fps will drop down to around 25 for a second or two, and then come back up.

Thanks for the info. I will try them in a few days when I get my system up and running again.

LOL when I was talking about the low FPS, I was referring to the original Cat 3.0 and all previous drivers before that.

Sheesh, its supposed to solve the stuttering problem, but after upgrading to these drivers, my Q3A started to get these problems. Every once in a while, the game would freeze up for a split second...the non-WHQL Catalyst 3.0s didn't give me that problem...
