Cat5e Cable: Cheap place to buy bulk?

Need a good cheap place to purchase about 500 - 1000ft of reliable Cat5e cable. Anyone have any suggestions on where to buy?

Why would anybody be using cat5e? The year is 2009, cate5e is completely obsolete. A dead technology. You will not be able to run 10 gig on it.

off topic a bit but if anyone is wiring a home the link below is to some cable that is great for the task. It can be hard to find and I just noticed they have it back in stock. If you are pulling cable this stuff is great, provides room for a lot of future uses.

monoprice, absolutely. I bought 500ft of rg6 for $28 shipped the other day. Homedepot wanted 50feet for $21

the church my parents go to just built a new building, and mom was telling me the crew that did the network cabling ran cat 5E and told them it would be sufficient...in a new building, that theyll be in for god knows how long

10GBASE-T will work up to 55 m (180 ft) with existing Cat 6 cabling and up to 45 m (148 ft) with existing Cat 5e cabling. In order to allow deployment at the usual 100 m (328 ft), the standard uses a new partitioned Category 6a (a.k.a "augmented Cat6") cable specification, designed to reduce crosstalk between UTP cables, known as alien crosstalk. Some manufacturers of cable have released "Cat7" cable which is specifically marketed for 10GBASE-T compatibility and claims greater shielding beyond cat6a specifications.

So 10gig will work with cat5e for shorter distances. But even though it's nearly twice the price, 100ft of cat6 is still like $15 at monoprice.com. 100ft of Cat 6a is only $23.
