Cat5 LAN tester?

What is a good(and cheap) Cat5 network cable tester?
I am thinking about the Fluke 620 LAN CableMeter, the the price it alittle high($350-$500)
What cable tests do you use/like?

Thanks🙂

fluke and microtest make testers to verify cat5 cables. about 2500-3500 dollars. anything cheaper does not test cat5 but does a simple wiremap/continuity test.

hope this helps. That's a nice tester, just don't expect it to verify cat5 cabling.

Thanks🙂
I don't need to verify the cables, just test them to see if they have a problem...when I am networking computers

you're welcome.

but that's what cable tester's do - they make sure you don't have a problem with the cable. They run 2500-3500 dollars and are a required tool if you plan on doing any kind of networking outside of the home.
