so i took it to the vet. i wait an hour. i wait 15mins while the vet dicks around and talks to her friends who've shown up (shes 40ish) and she FINALLY comes in and takes one look at the wound and says 'meh, its minor, wash it with some hydrogen peroxide and then use polysporon' and im like 'ok can you show me how' and she dumps it on the wrong foot. i was like 'uh...can we do it ont he right foot' and shes like 'we did' and leaves. she was behind so she didnt give a sh!t she just wanted to go home
...
im really pissed off. guess ill do what she said for a couple days and see if it improves
Sounds like your vet is smoking catnip to keep her anti-social and animal hating tendencies at bay. Sounds like she failed out of human medical school and somehow compensated by going to animal medical school.
Find a new vet.

What is polysporin?Originally posted by: Scouzer
can i polysporon for the time being? or would he just lick it off ya think?
Clean the wound. See if you can figure out exactly what type it is. Make sure she didn't just step in something foul smelling or something.
If you clean the wound and it is still rotten smelling, your cat is in need of immediate medical attention.
I'm no vet, but that's just common sense. Rotting flesh is a very, very bad thing.
It's called Neosporin here.. lolOriginally posted by: Iron Woode

Its a Canadian thing. Topical antibiotic. Helps wounds heal faster.

Well, update again. We were doing as vet #1 said and it was improving. Hardly smelled bad anymore, etc. Then my mom went to work on Monday and school for me on Tuesday. The cat is a two person job (he will annihalate anyone who tries to hold with one hand) so we could only do it once or twice a day. Was clearly rapidly getting worse by Monday evening. So I went into the other vet here in town today. Sure enough, he needs a toe amputated.
I realize I could have done more...but I still felt the Vet #1 in person would know a little more than you guys who haven't seen it (no offence to you guys, I'm sure you can see it on my side..) even if she was a total b!tch...
All the same, poor cat.![]()
