Normally I would ignore your tripe but you are on to something. TSA apprehended a clear security risk amongst us . . .

"He was interviewed and denied admission to the United States on national security grounds," said Homeland Security spokesman Dennis Murphy. He said the man would be put on the first available flight out of the country Wednesday.
---
Last year he released two songs, including a re-recording of his '70s hit "Peace Train," to express his opposition to the U.S.-led war in Iraq.
---
In a statement on his Web site, he wrote, "Crimes against innocent bystanders taken hostage in any circumstance have no foundation whatsoever in the life of Islam and the model example of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him."

Bushophiles should be proud. I know I feel safer.

Is he a citizen of the United States? If not, then we should have a right to refuse his entrance for any reason.. Is he a threat? Who knows.. I doubt they release all the reasons why he is on the 'threat' list.. But if there are questions about him, and there is no good reason for him to be here, then whats the harm?

Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia have some really strict entrance standards for Americans.. you need to be sponsored, etc.. Do you complain about that?

I caught this news earlier when I was watching Greta. I saw Dulles on the news and got a little alerted as I live a bit close to that airport. However, when I saw that it was Cat Stevens who was on the "list" I laughed.

Glad they're sending him back out of the U.S. on Wednesday.

I'm sure we'll know more soon. There's obviously a reason for denying his entrance to the U.S.

When you said you were glad it sounded as though you already know or that you ar eprejudiced against him in some way? Is he a Muslim or something?

I really do not know his history

Cats in the cradle is a good song :D

I have nothing against him or his religion. I was just simply stating that I was glad the individual was caught before the flight landed here in the U.S. which was the reason for the diversion to Maine.

If it was just a simple name screwup, why would he be denied access to the U.S. There's obviously got to be more to this story.

Edit: Additionally, I should point out from what I understand, this isn't the TSA's actions that got the ball rolling. The airlines are responsible for comparing their passenger lists against the list of undesireables. I guess we shoud also need to find out why he made it on to the flight and wasn't stopped @ London.

LOL...too funny...

A- if it was not Cat Stevens then it would not be news worthy and you guys would not give a rat's a$$

B- You complain that we should have caught the 9-11 hijackers BEFORE they entered the country...and rightly so...now that we scrutinze more people and catch them you seem to think YOU obviously can do a better job at telling who is a threat and who is not.....well if you are that damn good at it why not join the FBI or CIA and started making that decision?....I just hope you can do as good a job as you THINK you can.

I hardly think that we should use Saudi Arabia as a measure of our policies, particularly in regards to tolerance.

OK.. What was his crime?

He was deported from Israel in 2000 for funneling money to terrorist organizations (Hamas).

He got what he deserved then. I'm surprised he'd even have the nerve to attempt visiting the US if he truly did give money to terrorists.

Umm, "Cats on the Cradle" was written and peformed by Harry Chapin.

If this guy is funding Hamas, I don't want him here. Good riddance, Cat.

Cat stevens came from England in the late 60's/early 70's, a Folk Singer.
His mother was Swedish & dad was Greek - both real dangerous threats
as they ran a restraurant in London.

His 2 biggest albums were 'Teaser and the Fire Cat' & 'Catch Bull at Four'

'Cat in the Cradle' was Harry Chapin, NOT Stevens.

He was accused of giving money to Hamas, but no proof was presented that I've ever seen or could google today. He's been forthright in his condemnation of terrorism on his web site http://www.catstevens.com.

Doesn't he have himself anointed with oil, think dance is the devil, and freak when he sees black cats, and lose an election to a dead man? I think if he were merely a Nazi nobody few would even blink.
