Even the ones that house it to prevent extinction and mate them? Gotta love blanket statements.

The eagle didn't get eaten. That means that it sent
some large cat limping back to whatever cave it calls home.

Here's a little on Bobcats.

My mother recently got a cat. It used to be small. I visited her later and its like 25 or more lbs.

Still doubt it could take down a bald eagle (and yes I know they said it was probably a bobcat)

The bald eagle from the Washington DC National Zoo dies on the Fourth of July.
It's either ironic or terrorism.
Where is Tom Ridge? :Q  :p

Could be a housecat, though unlikely. I have a 21 pound cat who took down a hawk once, though a Bald Eagle would be a stretch. I'm still betting it's a bobcat though.

I'm not a fan of the Bald Eagle either. I personally prefer the Golden Eagle...then again my time as one of the trainers for Auburn Univ's eagle has probably skewed my judgement. :)

our national symbol should be a peregrine falcon, they're badass. or a big polar bear.
