There was a story about this hospital that had a cat. The cat would go sleep with a patient the night of the patient's death. The cat could sense the death.

This almost sounds like something similar.

In all seriousness, could it be that you kicked her by accident while getting up to go to the bathroom late at night or something?

Also an episode of House.

And I had heard about the real life one as well, and I was pretty sure I read an article on how they figured out it knew.

You didn't.

You read about some theories, but "they" haven't figured anything out.

No, pretty sure I read about it. There was a good explanation that made sense. It's been a few years so I can't really recall exact details about the article or its contents. I do believe there was an article in which it mentioned the cats ability to smell chemicals or something that we can't, mimicking behavior or something about the blankets of certain patients.

Within the past 2 months here in Blythe, Ca. there have been 8 or 9 deaths in this SMALL town (that I can think of)...which is very odd in itself. 2 have been suicides and 3 murders, and rest heart attacks or accidents.

The cat knows you did it.

I've heard of things like this happening to older cats.

Question for the OP: have you been having sex with your cat?

:hmm:

Interesting, to say the least. Especially that severe of aggression when she is usually at your feet trying to "win you over" so she can get fed.

Well, good luck with your demon friend that's been shadowing you.

You believe that somehow a ghost has "attached" itself to you and that your cat can see and react to it and that is why your cat is scared of you....

But you LMAO at the idea of sleepwalking?

You've been possessed by a demon....

....or your cat is getting old and it's affecting its brain.

UPDATE 08 Sept 2011

Cat is back to "normal" whatever that means :) I am still not tripping over her in the morning to feed her, but at least she is not running and hiding from me, not looking "past" me as she was before.

However, over the weekend, when the wife came to bed, and I got up, she told me to "Don't let them take you...I don't want them to take you" When asked what the F*** she was talking about, she answered "The things flying over your head"

I patted her on the head...thinking she was half asleep or dreaming, and in a very patronizing voice, told her "okay"

However, when she got up later in the morning, and I asked her if she remembered what she had said when she went to bed, she repeated it word for word. So she WASN'T dreaming it, and said she DID see things flying over my head. However, she puts it on the Ambian....that it DOES cause hallucinations....however, this would have been her first hallucination in the 2/3+ years she has been on Ambian.

So...that's my "update" as it were. Just find it all rather disconcerting still.
