update? Are you too busy right now cleaning the house because I forgot to mention - shut the bathroom door so that if the cat DOES escape, it can't go far? I'm hoping everything turns out to be okay for your cat.

Side note: The Vet recommended that we spay him to avoid the enlarged prostate issue in the future.
Vocabulary lesson: "him" and "prostate" means it's going to be neutering.
"She," "ovaries," and "vagina" mean spaying.

I'll actually help this one. Tuna packed with oil is apparently good for them when they are constipated.

Put him in a room with water and litter so I can monitor him. Had to go to work, so tired. He peed so he's not blocked. Gave him an anti-biotic in case he's got an infection (anus looked really irritated). His mood is OK but very lethargic but I'm going the enema route when I get home. Or vet.

Thanks a ton for the input.

Human babies can have this problem. Usually stick a rectal therometer up their butt stimulates them so they poop, even if they are constipated for days and crying, etc. Even though it seems gross, if you really care for the kitty you might want to try it.

get something like a rectal thermometer, douse it in KY, gently go in at an angle (so as to not push it in farther) and go around the outside of the anus. Or, stick 1/4 of a suppository in there...

Worst. Thread. Ever.

Not because of quality, but due to the content.

He should use that numbing KY that porn stars apparently use. Otherwise I bet a rectal thermometer hurts.

Just don't go to the pharmacy carrying your cat and asking for a rectal thermometer and some KY

Get an air compressor. Hose in cat's mouth. Turn on.

Just don't stand behind cat when air is turned on.

Have you ever seen a cat/dog/human poop? Their anus can stretch quite wide, the 1/8th of an inch diameter of a rectal thermometer isn't going to hurt much (so long as you don't JAM it in)

Sorry for you loss. What was it?

Renal failure, liver problems, dehydration - basically a kitty dieing.

That has to be one of the toughest decisions I've ever had to make.
