Catalyst 9.3 brings new Windows 7 driver
On March 18 according to the "CatalystMaker" Terry Makedon. The previous release was two months ago on Jan 9th which was tagged 'preview' driver for Windows 7 where as the one in Catalyst 9.3 is tagged as 'real' driver. The tag alone conveys the Catalyst team's message that this driver is vastly improved over the current release.

According to ATI, Windows 7 will be the real differentiator between Nvidia and ATI products as the WWDM (Windows Display Driver Model) 1.1 is heavily based on the DirectX 10.1 API. Since Nvidia has yet to introduce any product that is DirectX 10.1 compliant, these features on Nvidia hardware will be forced via emulation of sorts.

i remember thinking, "how cool", i can *finally* get a review out while the driver i am benching with is still current
