Sheesh. I've got other things to do?
Anyone tried and OpenGL game other than Doom III? KotOR for example?

I'm not taking a potshot at you Rollo. As indicated in the quote above, gxsaurav so poignantly pointed out that Nvidia users have been enjoying Doom3 for a month while ATI users have been languishing for a driver to run the game (??). I merely said that I, for one, as an ATI user, had no problem with their previous drivers and was able to play through the entire game using ATI's old "inefficient" drivers.

No problems with any of my OpenGL games(Quake 3,CS,TFC etc)btw I did use Driver Cleaner to make sure I had a clean install of the new drivers and the new CCC.
whoa, it just got sorted out on its own. my guess is it was something refresh rate related and refreshforce saves the day once againMASSIVE flickering in x-com UFO gold, to a point where its totally unplayable

Just wanted to update you all on a non-issue I reported earlier in the thread.
I said that Splinter Cell was borked. After resetting all Catalyst settings to factory default, SC went back to normal. Then, after a reboot, I changed Catalyst control panel settings back to what it was before (8x AF, etc.), and SC still runs fine. Weird.
Also, there is a definite improvement in UT2k4 performance. Tested on some very large multiplayer ONS maps. Would be nice if UT had a standard benchmark to compare against reviewers' numbers.

Yeah, unfortunately ATI did NOT rewrite the OpenGL drivers for the 4.9 release. I'm not expecting to see it until next year. I may not even be using my 9800 Pro next year. I hope they do it this year.

For example, my rig scores 5540 3DMarks 03, and I saw in one of the reviews a while ago a system similar to mine that scores ~6000 3DMarks.

NV fans are funny. There is NO point of you clicking this thread, since you dont have a ATi card.
Of course you could turn your argument around, with Farcry. But I guess you dont want to do that, do you? Besides, the beta drivers were available on ATi's site that boosted Doom3 a lot.
"septembar"? Oh my... your posts makes more sense now. Not that sharpest tool in the shed are you...

I always assumed the nvidiots are crashing ati driver threads in retaliation to the fanATIcs who crash nvidia driver threads. I am starting to like the new ccc, but not sure why. Just does the same old stuff in a complicated fashion. I must learn to make profiles and stuff now.

And why would you not? It's "The Performance and Stability At a New Level" according to ATI![]()
