Castro lives!!!

Reading between the lines, it looks like a defacto admission that Castro will soon die from this illness---sounds like an incurable form of cancer. But its also clear the lion is not dead yet.

But for anyone who looks to the future, Castro's death will be a day when the world changes---and to a certain extent it will be an opportunity that can be harnessed by someone who is realistic---but an opportunity that will be missed by any one holds on to political baggage.

Take the Shah of Iran---a creation of Britain and the US---and propped up by brutal repression of the Iranian people---obe fine day we woke up--and the Shah was running for his life.
As even the secret police deserted him. And we got a religious theoracy---with a hostage crisis to boot---when their nutty leader died---we had that chance to say all is forgiven---and move closer to Iran---an opportunity lost.---and now its further away than ever.

But we supported a Batista---the brutal prior leader---and got a Castro---who truth be told did much for the common Cuban. Then we have boycotted the Cuban economy--and say see, communism does not work. But the interests of Cuba are with the US---when Castro dies we will have that opportunity to mend---but if we only bad mouth Castro---we are certain to fail.

But time ultimately fells all political leaders---and from death comes new life---and new opportunities to be gained or lost---as past greivances can often die with the leader. And offer a chance to bury the hachet.---will Washington DC adopt a new national Cuban strategy---or retain the failed South Florida one we have?

The measure of that will be in the amount of Castro bashing the USA uses during the upcoming funeral of Castro.---a little USA mia culpa would not hurt either.
