I bought a beater car and don't feel like spending the money for a CD player for it. The problem I'm having is that it sometimes thinks it's at the end of the "tape" and the deck will auto-reverse a few times and then eject.
so inside, I have a gear around each hole in the tape connected by a gear between them. so now, both side gears will spin at the same speed, in the same direction, at the same time.
The one side gear is also connected to a little gear that's on a tensioner and attached to a wheel with a rubber strip around it that will pop out of the front of the cassette when the main 2 gears are spun. I have no idea what this little guy does.
So, anyone know if it'll work if I rip out all the gears? It's about -10 here and I don't feel like walking out to my car for a trial and error test.
