I got this info from other website. Called about 6 wal-marts, and found out one of those has this camera in the stock for 199. The price on the net ranging from 340-400. Read the Review

Make sure you ask the Photo Manager who knows about digital camera since they never display the unit and only have the camera in the closet. Most salesperson doesn't even know the existence of this camera.

That is too kool. I honestly want this camera. The price is just great and I read the review and it is definitely a one-of-a-kind digicam. Great find azri! Any info on the Wal-Mart you went to? Might be nearby to me ^_^. One can only hope...

Anyone got a SKU for this camera? Why is WalMart not displaying a camera that is only 4 months old? And why selling it so cheap?

Hi all,

This was originally posted here by Ramias last Saturday (thread name: "Casio qv-2900ux 2.11 Mega Pix cam $199 Walmart BM") and I updated it November 22nd. I think it got lost in all the traffic.

I am not sure if I am reporting the correct number but my receipt shows:

ST# 2766 OP# 00000169
Dig Cam 0007976768682

I hope one of those represents the number you need.

By the way I combined my purchase with a $20 PNY USB flash reader from Staples (making it much easier to use the camera and saving on batteries) and a $15 48 meg Lexar compact flash card from Fry's Electronics (watch their sales advertisements if you have any near you).

Happy hunting.

I called all my local Walmarts and they (Photo Manager) said they don't carry Casio digital camera's and will not be getting them in either. :(

Too bad, I would have bought one in a heartbeat!

Hi,

There were at least two other Casio models in my Wal-Mart. I think you either have a lazy manager or one trying to hoard the cameras. Or, possibly, there is a regional difference in camera stocking patterns.

My SKU is the same as SteveS.

DIG CAM 007976768682 199.42 J

the store that I visited was Naugatuck CT. It is very small wal-mart in the small town. It's about 40 minutes driving distance from my place but I can assure, it's well worth it.

My suggestion is to get the list of local or nearby Wal-mart from walmart.com store locator and call around. Make sure you speak with Photo Manager who knows about digital camera. I got 3 store said, they don't carry any Casio brand. The Naugatuck CT wal-mart has five of them. ( minus 1 for me of course :) )My friend will buy one tomorrow ( I hope they still have them ).

Good luck.

I can't find one in Atlanta. The dept mgr at the Roswell / Alpharetta said they don't carry this camera in this region ( maybe theyre coming and he just doesn't know). I went ahead and put an order in on that oddball RCA CDS 6300 (potential POS) at O&M ( see other thread) but would rather have a real brand name digital camera.

All stores within 2 hr drive from Portland, Oregon is out of stock or never carried it. Most stores never had it. I checked stores from Longview, WA to Eugene, OR. I got the last 2, hee hee. But I had to drive really far for one.

I wanted to let all in the area know so they don't waste their time. PS, there is one left in Newport, OR (too far for me).

I bought this Camera in Kingsville, TX and they had 2 left. Went back the next day to pick up another one and the two they had plus the display unit had sold.

Bought a 256mb card for $90 and an enermax recharger kit (w/ ac and car chargers) for $39 from newegg.com and an a/c adapter for the camera for $29.00 from circuitcity.com. I wanted the car kit and casio didn't offer it. but the memory was a good price. :)

Also, does anyone else have problems with Win2000 and this camera. My parents have a computer w/ win2k pro and the camera doesn't set up right. My XP System works fine.
