I bought a Casio label printer for $9.99 today at OD. It's on clearance. Here is a link to it on Amazon. It hooks up to your computer like a regular printer, but print's labels instead. It also comes attached to a mouse pad, but I'm going to rip that piece off. There are about 5 left in the Daly City, CA OD.

Not to thread crap, but you guys might want to look at the customer reviews on amazon before making any decisions ;)

I purchased one of these when Staples clearanced them for about ten bucks. Hooks up through USB to your computer. You need to copy, open the program, paste and then print for it to work. This item is great for someone who occasionally needs to make labels, not someone who churns out labels everyday. For me it works great.

I bought one of these KPL1000 (for $30 ouch), and it's pretty much what it claims to be. The "mousepad" is pretty lame and extraneous, but it comes off nicely.

Casio has recently released a whole new software application for controlling the printer. It's called "FA-B30" instead of the "FA-950" that is included with the label printer. You can download it from Casio's FTP site.

The new software is much nicer.. you can include graphics, and control the font more easily. It beats my old Brother P-Touch labeler, since it can do 1-3 lines in any font I chose.

On the down side, I can't turn off tape feeding, so even smaller labels have long before/after leaders. This wastes tape, which is not cheap stuff.

At the $10 clearance price, it's actually cheaper than the roll of label tape that is included! Nice find.

Slacktron, thanks for the info on the updated software!

FWIW, the new software can also be found here.
