I live in Cincinnati and we can get to Argosy Casino boat in less than a half hour

It is in Lawrenceburg, IN

There is also Rising Sun and I think another one - all on the Ohio river

good luck n have fun

Well, if you don't feel like going to a state with legal gambling, your only choices are boats and indian casinos.

Detroit has 3 casinos(i think) and Windsor has one. The Greektown casino is really nice. Its built into Trapper's Alley, so they are leaving Detroit history instead of tearing it down.

Tunica, Mississippi

I was down there a few years ago, do not go in August like I did, you cannot breathe down there. There are a bunch of casinos, some together, some spread out a bit. But at least there is some variety so you won't be stuck in 1 casino.

I've also heard Foxwoods is pretty nice.

I haven't been to Vegas, so I cannot compare based on personal experience, but I have been to the Casinos in Detroit, and if you're just looking to gamble, Detroit is OK...not bad, but not really good either, and don't expect the glitz (or service) of Vegas or even Atlantic City.

If you're into slots, then they're fine (Don't go on the weekend's though), but for tables they always seem to be crowded and over priced. (Very few, if any, $5 and $10 tables, usually $15 and up)

I've not been to the Windsor Casino, but my father-in-law loves it.

I have been to the Slots at Windsor Raceway...again, if you like slots this place is nice (no tables at all). Plus (if you cash in American $$$) you get about 50% more playing money. Usually exchanging $1.50CND for $1.00US. (Although when you cash out the conversion goes back the other way)

Added bonus at the Raceway, if you're not having a good night, you can always go and bet on the Ponies. 🙂

Again, I've not been to Vegas, so I'm only comparing to what I've seen on TV and heard from others.

there is no comparison to Vegas when you look at the whole experience.. casino wise some of the big Indian casinos
like Fox Woods & Mohegan Sun are pretty amazing.

I live in NJ and can tell you that Atlantic city looks like a hole compared to some of these places,
