Well today a fellow AT member and I, went over to Foxwoods on the old people bus, to play the tables...which got me thinking about retirement.

Now, for those unfamiliar with the old people casino bus, the concept is you pay $10 for a round trip (plus tip), they give you a coupon for a free buffet/or other retail purchase and $40 in money that they match on bets.

By playing a fairly even game (such as blackjack), I figure a conservative gambler can take home at the very minimum the comp money ($40), plus whatever +/- % of their winnings (should even to 0 in the long run). And they get free food while they are there.

So, figure $30 or so a day(after bus fare), 7 days a week=$210/week non taxed. Plus by hoarding buffet food (and this is good buffet food also..with healthy selection), which can last approx 2 meals, this means virtually no expenses for food/drink.

And obviously old people can suppliment these earnings with social security and other savings...plus as a group activity its actually quite fun.

Blackjack is only a fairly even game if you have mastered basic strategy, which 90% of blackjack players have not.

a player who plays by the rules every time can make a little over 99% back. If you card count (even crappily) you can get over 100.

I think you could achieve a much more reliable and stable income source by being the guy selling the bus rides.
