A good friend of mine was on Cash Cab. He told me he had to be first interviewed by television show producers. They then pick you up at a pre-arranged place and drop you off at another pre-arranged place. It's not just random people taking cabs, it's organized like a reality show with specific rules and such. People have to interview to be on the show.
