hey, all of the cases that i've been seeing lately (in Canadian stores and online) suck real bad.. can someone please refer a good case, one that will cool well for a thunderbird.. all of the cases I've been seeing have very limited cooling potential.. someone please let me know if they know of a place in CAN that (toronto) will have good cases.. or just some brands to look for or something. Thanks.
 
Are you saying the Antec SX830 and SX1030 cases suck? I looked it over and the airflow and the way it is made looks pretty good to me. I will also be running a T-bird, so have looked into the cooling. Do a search for the antec cases in the hot deals, and cooling forum...
 
The Anec SX830 or SX1030 are great cases with excelent cooling. I got the SX830 and my cpu tems went from 37-41 to 31-35 under a full load the case temp is the same as ambient room temp. Plus it has an excellent power supply. What else could you want for $80
 
I agree Cases suck, i just unloaded a 40 foot long 8 foot high Cargo Container of them at work, so im not to fond of cases right now either, and you are right most models we got in are ugly as hell, but there are some good ones.
 
get the HXO8 at NCIX.com for $133, pay $12 shipping and no PST if you dont live in BC...so do the math, it cheaper to buy from them. BTW, i have that case and i love it.
 
I am also thinking about buying a new case, to house a 1+ GHZ athlon or maybe a P4...there seems to be inconclusive evidence on which is the best case though =(. This thread was really helpful though, I think it's b/w the HX08, Sx-1030, and the FK-30 look really nice. Too bad there's no way to find out which one is "the best."
 
the antec looks good to me 😀 I have been using it lately for my clients computers, they love them.
 
Yeah I'm goin with Antec SX830.

I has enough bays so I can do a 3 HDD RAID and have room for my CD-ROMs and floppy drive 🙂

BTW the power supply on there is supposed to dynamically change the RPMs on the cooling fan, slower when cooler/faster when hotter.
 
Lite-On FS020

The Lite-On FS020 is a very good case with room for 3 120mm fans!! I have this case with three Panaflo 'L1A' (low noise) fans. **** Do get the panaflo low noise fans with this case **** 120mm fans can get real noisy!! This case has plenty of room and looks real good in person.
