Hey all,

Warning, I'm a new builder.

This has probably been asked 1000 times in 1000 different ways. :) Are there any specific recommendations for a case that includes sufficient fan/ventilation, power, looks decent (mid tower), and doesn't cost a fortune? I'm thinking $150ish or under. I'm not into extra modding yet. Thanks.

Any of the sx-antecs, although be warned that the 12xx is really huge, and that both the 10xx and 8xx are largish. The 63x series is mid sized, dunno why they market it as a minitower. These are also marketed as Enermax, Chieftec, Chenming and Uneec, they all come off the same assembly line. Some have different front bezels, although these variants are hard to find.

Fong Kai makes good boxes, too, as do Addtronics, LiteOn, and Chenbro. These last three will run a little more than the Antecs or Fong Kai's, the Chenbro Junior is particularly well regarded.

In any event, get a name-brand psu of 300 to 400w- really cheap psu's aren't worth the aggravation.

I'm running the 8KHA+ with a 1600XP oc'd to 1900 in an Enlight 7237 w/340W psu. I did a few minor mods--enlarged front fan for a 92mm, and added a top blowhole with 80mm exhaust. It's a decent sized/made case that accepts mods easily. And you can get it for under $100 :)
