case to motherboard led/button connectors

What kind of connectors are these? I have a mini-itx board, but I'm using a xbox case and I need to get my hands on some of the connectors to connect the buttons/leds to the motherboard(since the xbox button connecter is proprietary). Anyone know where these come from?

I have some old cases but they look like they have some of the buttons together in a chunck connector. I would assume I just need the std atx case button/led connectors. Anyone know where I could buy these, or what they are called so I could try to search for them?

Thanks!

Try Radio Shack. You just need a momentary switch to connect to the motherboard connectors.

I think I misread your intentions. You want to hookup the XBox power button and LED's to your Mini-ITX motherboard? If that is the case, more than likely you'll have to splice the existing wires onto some jumpered wires.

I'm pretty sure your mini-ITX motherboard has the following jumper pins:
PIN | SIGNAL
--------------
1 PW_LED+
3 PW_LED+
5 PW_LED-
7 SPEAKER+
9 NC
11 NC
13 SPEAKER-
15 NC

2 HD_LED+
4 HD_LED-
6 PW_BN+
8 PW_BN-
10 RST_SW+
12 RST_SW-
14 SLP_LED+
16 SLP_LED-

If you can find the wire signals for the XBox connector we can match up which belong to which.

Thanks! have you seen the xbox connector? It has 1 connector where all the wires from the power/eject/leds and then that connector hooks onto the xbox motherboard. Do you think I'll be able to use that connector? I didn't think I'd be able to. What I was going to do was try to find a atx case to cut the connectors off of and then cut the connector off the xbox wires, and figure out which wires from the switches went where, and then hooked up those wires to the connectors and plugged them into the mini-itx board... does that make sense?

The part that makes it so fun is that ALL the wires coming from the xbox buttons/leds are all Yellow :)

I appreciate the help techfuzz... if I find out what wires on the xbox go to what, then all I have to do is attach those to the connectors and plug them onto their respecting place on the mini-itx board right?

Yup, might take a little soldering/splicing to connect the wires, but that is the general gist of it.

have you seen the xbox connector?
Nope, sorry all I've got is a PS2 and I've yet to take it apart.

Alright, I guess it's just a matter of finding out what goes where now :) Thanks for the help :)

Oh yeah, I actually booted last night(not from xbox case), but just ripped the front panel off of an old case and used it's buttons... at least I know I've got the right power connection :)

XBox Scene

I ran across this website looking for the schematics. It looks like it might have some good information, but I wasn't about to go digging around for it. Cheers!

Thats a pretty cool site :) I haven't seen taht one before..

for an update... I figured out the + and - for the power button on the xbox... so it's all good :) If I can figure out how, I'll try to wire the eject button too... but I may just make it reset...
