Is there a general rule of thumb for these two temps? I have heard lots of people say that there case temp is usually 6-10 degrees cooler than their cpu temp. Is this a common range? My cpu temp right now is 14 degrees warmer than my case temp, and it is always at least that much higher, sometimes a little more. Is this anything to be worried about?

in most cases the closer your case temp is to your cpu temp, the more efficient the hsf cooling. this shows your heatsink/fan is disappating the heat into the case, and away from the cpu (lowering your cpu temp and raising the case temp).
