I'm looking for a black mid-tower case with a decent power supply in the $30-45 range.

I've checked newegg, compgeeks, and tigerdirect. Any other website suggestions?

That's waaaayy too low a price range to get ANY decent case with a PSU. Especially in the size you want. Increase your budget to something realistic and check again. You'll be able to get something for ~$100 that won't crap out on you in short order.

300W is a bare minimum PSU. It's fine if you intend to just do office type work on the system, but try and go for hardware that can game and it won't cut it. Getting a decent PSU will drive that case up to the ~$100 mark I posted earlier (if not over it). You can get decent/good Antec cases with 400W PSU's in them that will work. Of course, if you intend to [again] game with game level hardware, you'll probably want a PSU that's closer to the 500W mark (or at least 450W). If you don't want to change the PSU for a long time (over a year) then you'll want a larger/better one now. Otherwise, by the time you add up all the replacements, you'll have exceeded the cost of getting a good one now.

how about this case?

new egg case

I'm not really a gamer, though I may play something like Star Wars Galaxies or something. I don't care for FPS, so I'm not looking to run Doom 3 or anything like thaty.

This machine would have a generic 128 mb video card and a 16x dvd burner.

Doesn't look too bad, and for your uses, will probably suffice power wise. A higher quality PSU is always recommended, but for a non gamer, it should work for the time being.

go to compusa.....they have the antec SLK2650BQE on sale for 40 after rebate......at that price, this is the best case you can get (because the power supply itself is worth 60)

Will I need any additional fans for case I posted.

I'll be running a A64 3000+ or 3200+ Newcastle w/heatsink/fan.

No overclocking or gaming.

You should plan on having at least one fan (front) for intake, one fan (rear) for exhausting heat, in the case. If it doesn't come with at least that for fans, get ones to install where they are missing. If you want to do more to keep it cool, put an Arctic Cooling GPU cooler on whatever video card you get.

BTW, the AC unit has two benefits...
1. It will keep your card running cooler at stock cooler noise levels
2. It will keep your card as cool as the stock cooler while being silent.

I put one onto my 6800GT and it is both quieter than stock, AND cooler at the same time. The one for the 6800GT doesn't have the speed switch that the one for the 9800 card did (that I had) but that's fine with me. My main source of sound/noise inside my case is the fan on my processor heatsink.

dumb question, but any idea what size fan i should order? the new egg site doesn't seem to say.
This case you posted is designed for 80mm fans. That is the only size fan you can use with the case. It comes with one rear case fan, which will be sufficient for the light to moderate computing you intend to use it for.
