I am in the market for a new case and would like recommendations from you all that may know of a case that will suit my needs.

I am looking for a simple yet stylish mid-tower case preferably brushed aluminum/steel WITHOUT a door on the front. I don't care anything about a window in the side but wouldn't mind if it had a fan port. I would also love to have front USB/Firewire and headphone ports on the front. I liked the way one of Antec's cases had the ports at the very top, but that plasticy chrome really turned me off of that case. I would like to purchase a case for a reasonable price (<$200 including PSU) but if you know of a case that has all these features I'd still like to hear about it.

I just moved from a chieftec aluminum case into this case and it's quite a nice case for the money. I was actually surprised by the quality of it. the fit and finish isn't perfect, particarly the modular design of the mobo tray and PS, but I fit all my goods into it and it's very quiet, no vibration, and the brushed aluminum look is great. It's basically a Lian-Li look-a-like. with all the money you save you can put the rest into a high end powersupply, which to me would be much more important.
 
You aren't going to get anything good with a metal front panel without paying an arm and a leg. My vote goes to the Antec P160 (the one you don't like) or the P180 once it's out.

You'll love this case. Pull out mobo tray and a cage wrapped around the PSU for added stability (no longer mounting it on those flimsy looking 'shelves'.

Probably my last case I'll buy before BTX comes standard.

me too. just got the p160 for 80Ar at compusa. its an awesome case

thats my recommendation too but i wasn't sure if its considered a full or mid tower
 
Newegg also has a version of that Skyhawk that rickn mentioned above for low bucks. Hard to get much more case for that little. The Kingwin 424 series is really nice too, as are the CM Praetorian (all Al.) and the Centurion series. There are quite a few elegantly plain cases around - I think Enermax has some new Al. cases that are fairly plain.

its kinda useless when you don't have any cases in mind and you ask for other people's input. almost everyone has a different taste and favorite case.

so, pick a few cases out, then ask for people to compare them. i think that will help you more🙂

Actually I disagree. I appreciate all the suggestions especially ones that pointed me to cases not listed on newegg's site. I'm still looking but some of the cases people have posted are now on the list of cases I am debating on.
