I'm interested in painting my case, and am wondering if anyone here has done it before. At this point, I'm not really sure what kind of paint to use, although to be honest I havn't looked much. If anyone here has painted their case, please let me know what kind of paint you used and how it turned out. Thanks a lot. A final question though, could painting the case decrease heat dissapation at all?

Here's a quick summary of what I did to paint my case:

Supplies:

I went to Pep Boys and used:
Plasti-kote brand sandable primer. 1 can
Plasti-kote Classic Black Laquer 4 cans (I used 1 extra can cause I messed up a panel and had to start that one over)
Plasti-kote Clear Coat 1 can
3M imperial Wetordry Assorted sand paper (Comes with P320, P400, P600, P800)
3M imperial wetordry 1500 grit
3M imperial wetordry 2000 grit
Rubber sanding block (I used my hands most of the time)
Meguiar's Show car glaz polish #7
Air filter mask (poor lungs)
Dremel with wire paint strip bit

1. First take paint off with low grit wet sanding and used dremel for small places. Don't sand down to bare metal.
2. Apply a few coats of primer, sanding lightly between them with 400 grit, then 600
3. Apply first coat of paint, sand it down to remove high spots (spray paints don't go on glass smooth but rather speckled), then sand and recoat maybe 3-4 times going up in sand paper grit each time to 2000.
4. After using 2000 grit on the paint, spray a final coat of paint making sure no lints or bugs land on it.
5. Spray 1 clear coat, sand with 2000 grit lightly then repeat clear coat to give mirror finish.
6. Wait 2 months until paint is rock hard then use wax and/or polish.

Tips
Be careful not to scratch the paint, cut your nails real short when working on it.
Try to find a dust/bug free environment, let paint dry some before sanding, absolutly don't go near the paint when it's wet. (like to pick a bug off)
Try to use non-hard water when wet sanding, I used silicone squigy to dry panels off quickly to not leave waterspots

My case has 3 coats of primer, 4 coats of black, 2 clear coats, and has a mirror finish in which I can clearly see myself.
I used Gloss Black to challenge my painting skills. (black shows the slightest error)
