i feel like tracing lines on my fx5200 maybe even on my mobo and possibly the tops of capacitors or something with a UV pen. where can i get a UV sensitive pen? do florescent pens work? im in the process of getting UV cold cathodes as well.

These are decent, only thing is that they're gel pens, so you won't be doing any fine tracing with it. They luminesce nicely though, but all 3 colors luminesce green.

Oh, and flourescent markers are really too light to be seen over the color of the pcb. They DO work on white or near white surfaces though. And make sure you get at least 2 or more UV ccfls if you want the UV to stand out.

That is weird...I was just looking at a mod page on tracing lines with a UV pen. Seems awesome.

Here's an article for you and try to find the Bic ones...I've done a few but also had a Vid card and Mobo go down on me using this method so I will not play with anything under warranty.

Not sure on the Vid card...it may have just crapped out because it was abused/old but I suspect the Mobo went because the Caps were coated...
