Case front panel LOCKED!

In my Silverstone Tejmin TJ-05 case the front panel is currently locked (which I need to open in order to install/remvoe all the 5.25 bay drives), I recieved a key with the case which I lost and now I cannot open the front of the case, and it's driving me absolutly NUTS! Why the hell would I want to LOCK the front panel of my computer in my house?!
So now i'm stuck with a locked case and without a key. I can't find a key like this on eBay and nowhere else... any suggestions?

Just get a paper clip and pick the lock. Those locks they use on cases are just for novelty purposes (well the ones I have come across anyway) , they aren't overly secure.

I don't know how you're going to get in now apart from breaking something or picking the lock, but contact Silverstone and see if they will send you a replacement key.

What type of key is it? Is it the little one where the part that gets inserted is round? Or is like a normal house key or something? If it's the round type, then I'm sure you could get one from someone on the forums (try in the FS/T Freebies thread).

INM8, I'll try picking it.

Fullmetal, yeah it's the key you are talking about, the ones that were used on 386/486 computers, small with round head and 1 tooth I think. You know how can I find one on eBay or something? I don't know where to get one.

Generally there is a number on the face of the lock. If there is, contact Silverstone with that number. I bet they send you a key for free.
If no number. Can a side panel be removed? If yes. Romove the panel and there might be a screw holding the little locking plate inplace. Remove that screw.
If you get another key. Tape one to the inside of a side panel. I place motherboard manuals in a zip-lock bag and tape that to the side panel. Those books always get lost. 😉

Good advice!

OP: A thick plastic drinking straw (Prolly McD's) and a paperclip should to the job if it's a cheap circular lock.

You can call a lock smith.... seriously. You can even have them come to your house. It should only be $40 at most.

The reason for the lock i assume is
A-people who have sensative information on their computer.
B-don't want others using it (if it covers the power button), such as in a family house hold with siblings.
C-some people think it's cool.

Take it to a lock smith 😉

I'm trying to get a key for now, cause I couldn't pick it... If I continue trying i'll get extremely pissed off. I'll go to my tool box, install a big drill head to my drill and put it to good use.
