Wasnt sure where to post this, but this seemed as good as any :D

I bought the Corsair R500 case and have built up my first pc. The front 2 120mm fans and the side 200mm fan aren't working for some reason. I have read that the 3 fans all work together from the same connection, but i cant get them working. The group of cables that is rooted to the front panel has a connection for the side fan, but even after connecting it it isnt running, nor the 2 front fans. Also the 2 front fans are connected to each other, and their wire heads up into what looks like the front panel where the fan button is. There is only 1 button so that makes me think even more the 3 are connected together from that single button.

The LEDs are not working either, so maybe i was supposed to connect the front panel up but didnt? but saying that the power button works and lights up soo... im not really sure

I also read that the corsair fans are specific 3 pin connections that you wont find elsewhere like the mobo, which i have a z77 d3h just so you know, so im assuming that the 3 pin connector i put it in is correct. Maybe they are not connected properly at the front panel or something? I havent looked because its hard to get too and dont totally know what im doing hehe.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Did you connect the molex connector from the fan controller to your power supply? It powers the two front fans which are already connected to it and the side fan which you must connect yourself. The LEDs are powered from the same fan wires.

probably not lol, is there a port to put it in on the psu then? all i have done is put the side fan into the wire coming down from the front panel, is that not all of it? couldnt see anything more than that.

Not sure what a molex is either, is it the connecters with 4 small round holes inside? as i have some from the psu which are not connected to anything.

could you explain in more detail for me? sorry to be a pain

Sorry, i havent done these things before :)

Look into the wires coming from the integrated fan controller. Once connected to your PSU it looks like this:

The side fan connects to a wire looking like this:

That goes into the free connector at the left side of the first picture

These were stolen from a thread over at OCN.

Thanks as always lehtv :D while looking around in there totally confused i spotted what you meant, and i somehow had never spotted it before! haha

Its all working fine now :)

seeing as you are such a technical genius, would you be able to advise me on my cpu cooler backplate issue? :p

You recommended me the alpenfohn brocken cpu cooler to go with my first build, i found that its backplate that goes on the back of the mobo was a tad too small to reach the holes though, the mobo is also the one you recommended, the Z77 D3H and is a LGA1155 socket. Do you know who or where might sell a backplate that will fit it?.

I measured the holes and they appear to be 3 inches from hole to hole both across and top to bottom

Thanks for all your help as usual :)
