Case Fans and motherboards

HI All

I got three antec case fans all with 4 pins connectors. If i wanted the motherboard to control these fans would all i need is a 3 pin adaptor? Or do u need a special fan for this purpose that would have the 3pin connector plus another connection for monitoring?

thanks in advance

Read the specs for your mb, it can handle most case fans. Make sure the amp rating of the fan is not higher than the rating for the mb header. Only put one fan per header. Replace the 4 pin connectors with 3 pin. You can solder the wires or use wire nuts or just twist them together and tape them (just don't twist and tape cpu fan wires). There may even be an adapter you can use.
