'Defended' myself in court today and got the case against me dismissed. No criminal record, no fines, no community service!

For those of you who don't know, I was arrested for having a party with underage drinking. The exact charge they came up with was disorderly conduct.

Don't get the impression this was a big trial with a grand jury, it was a misdemenor, but I did avoid the $500 fine and 20 hours of community service (the offer from Alternative Sentencing). In fact I only said five words to the judge. But they dropped the case so $$$.

"But they dropped the case so $$$" is more than five words and also contains more than just alphanumeric characters.

I tried that once with a 'creating a disturbance' - which is BS since the disturbance had already been created well before I got there. Whatever, the judge gently told me in his quarters that it was not worth fighting. Got slapped with a small fine.

Still pissed about it.

"Yes. Thank you your honor."

The police officier, who was the witness, to the case said that I was already disciplined by my school (I wasn't) so there was no need for further action.

He probably leaned in close to the cop, pointed at a picture, and whispered "Is this your mom, sir?"

"Err...charges dropped?"
