Hi,

I have a Q6600 CPU and a Lian-Li PC60, with 4HDD's and 1 CD, 8800GTS.

My Q6600 temps are shocking!

I need a case with better airflow but I want something quite, any sugestions?

My thoughs so far are:

Antec P182
Lian-Li VC1000+
Lian-Li A16A

I don't really like the Antec 900, I'd perfer silver given a choice.

Thanks

Toby

Welcome to the AT forums.

Final solution: Outside the Box. Cut out that restrictive grill from the 80 mm hole and use an 80 to 120 fan adapter per the picture. Much less expensive.

As you can see I've been lurking for a long time

Might give it a go, I fancy a new one though.

Are you in the USofA? Your english usage would suggest otherwise. You should complete your user profile so our answers can be properly targeted.

Because SVC.com has the Coolermaster Mystique 631 ($100. aluminum case) for under $50. shipped at this time.

I have an Antec P182 and I love it... good cable management, and allows for easy access watercooling.. it is also reasonably priced

The P182 is the P180 with a mirror finish, rather than brushed aluminum. My P180 has the ports for water cooling. It lacks the little light, though. It's quite a bit less in terms of money.

Incorrect, the P182SE has the mirror finish... the P182 is the P180 with watercooling ports and better cable management

Then I must have got a 182 rather than a 180 because mine had the water ports and a few cable tie downs.

The newer P180 has the P182 interior. I got my P180 Silver last week and it has the P182 water ports.

Silence often depends on the case fans. No matter how crap the case can turn out to be, armed with lets say nexus fans, the case will be almost completely silent. Now combining both better airflow and silence is pretty damn hard.

So its best to check the fans rated dbs on the cases youve mentioned (although these are often fake or exaggerated) or you will have to invest on silent fans such as nexus, scythe fans etc.

Personally i would go for the antec case. If not i would go for the Silverstone TJ09 since it provides good airflow (i can think of many different "wind tunnel" setups) and have a side window showing off your gear.

And it won't show dirt, grime and fingerprints as badly and quickly as a 182SE.
