case cooling idea

Hi,

I've had my computer setup right in front of my window for a long time now. Keeps it cool when I run my air conditioner in the summer and leave the window open in the fall/winter. What I'm thinking is, what would happen if I changed my fan setup so that I'm blowing all the air from back to front, taking all that cool air from outside through the case.

What do you guys think?

why don't you just try? It should only take 2-3 minutes to accomplish, then you monitor temps again, and see if it helps. But, hot air from the CPU/GPU is going to travel a LONG way all the way from the back to the front and will exhaust in your room. In the winter it might be nice, acting like a someone elses central heating 😛

One of my computers is near the window as well and in the winter I have put a ThermoChill PA120.3 outside in the snow (on the roof about 2 feet from my pc) and I see VERY low temps on my Q6600 (20C at >1.6v). Of course the PA120.3 deserves some credit as does the snow ; ) but still impressive. I have also rigged a rad so that in the summer the A/C blows from behind it and is sucked through by three Delta fans (balls loud but worth it).
