a couple more weeks and i am building my first system. I have a question:

would the Asus p4s533 mobo fits on the Antec Performance Plus 880?

how do you know if a mobo fits for certain case or not? I am asking this, because I saw my friend trade in cases several time to get a perfect fit. I am going to buy most of my computer parts online, so I don't want to trade in at all.

Thanks

All you have to look for is the form factor. That Asus board and Antec case are both ATX so it should fit fine. The only thing that might not fit is the I/O panel on the back of the case. Some motherboards have non-standard I/O configurations, but most of these board manufacturers will include an I/O panel that will fit.

This is almost never a concern except with the small-size "micro ATX" and "flex ATX" motherboards and super-small cases to go with them.

Normal size cases (like the Antec) should fit any single-processor motherboard out there.

I bought the evercase 4252 from NewEgg and an ABit KR7A-133Raid, the MB rested on top of the 3 mounting bubbles closest to the front of the case, not lining up with those three, I didn't like that too much. I tested the MB and powered up, then wouldn't then would, put in a different case, nothing happened. Not sure if it was a bad MB or if it was shorted.
