I'll somewhat agree with the second point, but she did write a nice kids' book.

Russert does lean to the right, however, he seems able to effectively interview both parties & he doesn't pull any punches with his guests that are on the Republican side of the aisle.

He's certainly not as partisan as CBS/NYT

I'd say for the most part that you're right; however, sometimes he can throw some softballs when interviewing. Personally, when he interviewed the President, he didn't seem too hard on him, but there are plenty of instances with both parties where he really digs into them. Overall, I'd say he is probably the best when it comes to being disinterested when interviewing people.

IIRC, the bet was with his wife. If she won, he would donate; if he won, she would.

I commend Carville for accepting defeat so openly, and with self-deprecating humor. You can be sure Bush would never do either.
